The Pros & Cons of Technology Advancement

Technology development are proportional to time. Every moment that we encountered, technology keep advancing. Technologies cover not only machines or equipments but also anti virus in term of IT related  and vaccine for medical purpose. Now, in the year of 2014 or the 21st Century, the most notable technology is smartphone. Nearly 50% of the World or three point five billion of people own a smartphone. A smartphone functions is not only restricted to make call or sent message but also can be use to gauge the user health, tool to repel mosquitoes and as the main platform of information resources to the user. It can be conclude that a smartphone is the person itself considering a smartphone stored almost all the data about the user. But do a smartphone really the solution to make life much more easier?

Munshi Abdullah, a well known sailor during the 19th century had conclude that the world was rapidly changing. He had set sail through out the world and have written many articles about the fascinating technology such as telephone, locomotive and even war weapon. These technologies has rapidly change the people during that era where information can be transmit instantly using telephone or telegram compare to the era before the 19th century where information need to be transmit by sea and land that took months or even years. With technologies people during the 19th century are driven to succeed, well mannered in planning and were very determined. 200 years have passed and now it is the era of Millennium where people are not the same as 200 years ago. The population of the World during the 19th Century is about two billion people and during that era was an era of war and colonization compare to today situation where most of the seven billion people in the World live in a peaceful world.

The surrounding factor is the main factor that determine a technology necessity. iPhone 6 for example have make a selling record of 10 million sales in the first week of sale but do all 10 million of iPhone 6 users will get the most of their smartphone? People nowadays own a technology not because for the sake of optimizing the technology but rather as a pride to show to others.

The development of technologies will also develop many negative things just like viruses keep evolving although many clinical trials had been done or the enemy will also improved along with our  own improvement. Many statistics had been broken such as accident stats, divorce stats, social problem stats and many more. So where is the logic in technology making our life better?

Everything has its own good and bad criteria and technology is also include in this category. Although technology keep developing for the sake of creating a better life for the people but if the people doesn't appreciate and take any initiatives to support this purpose then this development of technology will only create a loop and in the end there are no advancement for the people. People will naturally advance when facing with difficulty and the idea of technology to make life easier is truly against the nature of human being.
